TITHING

Your Tithe is 10% of your income. Many a times I’ve had to answer questions on whether to tithe on little stipends giving to students for instance. The truth is – Tithing is a spiritual practice that has a supernatural blessing attached with it. And whether you’re a child or an adult, once you practise this principle, you’re equally entitled to the blessings it carries. So if you want to partake, then better practice.
For me, growing up as a child, my mum taught us (her children) to pay tithe. In fact any time we received money from anybody, she would first remove the tithe. And by this I grew with that culture of paying tithe even for every money gift I receive till date (and that’s obviously apart from my income). Therefore, whatever serves as your income, whether as a student or even a worker, pay that 10% as tithe, so you become a partaker of the blessings of tithing. The blessing is seen in Mal.3 :10 –12 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts”.

This is interesting because by paying your tithe, you can enjoy an overwhelming blessing of abundance, security… that is not dependent on the amount you paid as tithe but just on simple obedience to pay 10% of your income. By the way, INCOME is what comes in to you.
So no matter how small your 10% is, it’s not an excuse to hold-on to it. When you pay it, you even get bigger to pay more because there is a blessing of abundance attached to tithing. It’s that simple!
