FLOURISHING BY ASSOCIATION

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.” Psalm 1: 1

In the first chapter of the book of psalms, the psalmist made a very clear distinction between the godly and ungodly. He did this on the basis of association and meditation. Psalm 1:1 gives a breakdown of the type of association that a godly man should have. Having the right association is key to your flourishing as a Christian. The apostle Paul in 1Cor 15:33 said “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” Some people say “it does not matter”; beloved it does. “Your association is an important ingredient for your growth as a Christian.”
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. “Proverbs 27:17
If a godly man would neither walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor stand in the way of sinners, then he would walk in the counsel of the godly and stand in the way of the righteous. Associate yourself with people that would inspire and challenge you to great heights in God.
