Appraisal

The later part of Matt. 25:15 says ” to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey”.
This makes it clear that every man has his unique ability. I like to say this; in the parable of the talents, if the guy that had the ability for five was given one, his ability would have been underutilized, and if the guy that had the ability for one was given five, maybe he wouldn’t have been productive in it.
It’s interesting to note that the best way to assess yourself is to measure based on the best of your ability. See, if the guy that was given five talents made only four more, that would have been 90% success, but if the guy that was given just one talent made one more, that would have been 100% success; a great measure of what they produced based on what they had been given (what each one had ability for).
Stop measuring yourself based on another man’s ability then look at yourself as a failure. Measure yourself according to your ability.
Please not that this is not an excuse for mediocrity, aspire to always improve.
